auction house. In addition to live, telephone and absentee bids, live bidding will be offered at www.rossauction.com.

One of the items expected to command significant bidder interest is a monumental R.J. Horner figural mahogany dining room set. The set consists of a dining room table, six chairs, seven leaves, buffet, server and a curved glass display cabinet.

“This year we have some amazing antique items that we are extremely excited about. When we discovered the R.J. Horner pieces, I knew we had something special to showcase for this sale,” said Bill Neal owner of Ross Auction. “I had never seen items like this and did a lot of research about them. This is a unique opportunity for our buyers and our auction house, as these pieces are very rare.”

From early on, the R.J. Horner company targeted people of varying income levels. The message focused on decorating a home, not solely buying items for utilitarian purposes. A phrase commonly seen in Horner promotional merchandise was “First-class and Medium Quality Furniture.”

Along with the Horner pieces, the cataloged sale, will feature more than 450 different items including chandeliers, unique glass collectibles and more than 50 collectible firearms.
