Antique Trader editor takes new position

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve connected. During this time, which we’ve taken to calling the ‘summer hiatus,’ a lot has gone on. One of the things to have occurred is a change in leadership of this celebrated antique and collectibles reference.

Antoinette Rahn

After nearly six years as one half of the editorial leadership of Antique Trader, I’ve chosen to begin a new journey; with that I’ve resigned from my position. An exciting opportunity came to me unexpectedly but speaks to where I’m at professionally and personally. My new job keeps me within the publishing industry, but focusing on rocks and gems.

With that, I want to thank you.

Words of thanks

Thank you for choosing to be part of the Antique Trader community. For seeking to learn about a myriad of antiques and collectibles. Thank you for sharing stories about the items you collect, and about the memories the objects represent. For turning to Antique Trader for information about events and destinations that feed your antiquing spirit. Thank you for asking questions of us and the Antique Trader columnists and contributors. For consistently choosing to be patrons of the businesses that advertise through Antique Trader, and for partnering with Antique Trader to promote your businesses, offerings, and events. Thank you for eagerly participating in our contests, special projects, and Readers’ Advisory Board. And for being ambassadors and advocates of the antiques and collectibles community and Antique Trader.

It’s been an incredible honor and pleasure to be able to work for you and to work with Karen Knapstein and Antique Trader’s various contributors. I know I don’t have to tell you that you are in great hands with Karen, but I must say, her commitment to and passion for collecting and the history of antiques and collectibles of various time periods and geographic locations is unparalleled. She is one of the best in the business and a class act.

As my sweet and sometimes feisty little Irish grandma taught me, we are all on our respective journeys in life, but one of the best gifts we receive is when our paths cross with people of similar interests. These kindred spirits not only enhance our journey, but they also teach us about ourselves.

Thank you for being kindred spirits along the journey of life.
