Upper Deck seeking best examples of America’s ‘man caves’
Another season is upon us, and for many, that means a new season of sports. With that in mind, Upper Deck recently announced its ‘Man Cave’ contest. Time is of the essence though, as the deadline for submissions representing the best ‘Man Cave’ is Oct. 17.
CARLSBAD, Calif. — With the new football season underway, golf’s FedExCup Playoffs just completed, another prestigious Ryder Cup in the history books, and the baseball playoffs and NHL® and basketball seasons underway, there is no better time for the most elite of sports fans to spruce up their beloved man caves for one of the most important, fun times on the sports calendar. Now Upper Deck wants to make things even more exciting by coming in and helping a few lucky fans redecorate.
Upper Deck, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is on the hunt for the best man caves in North America through its 2014 Upper
Deck Ultimate Man Cave Contest. The contest will run until October 13, 2014. Upper Deck will vote on and then reward the five best fan entries with a piece of autographed memorabilia from one of Upper Deck’s most famous athlete spokesmen and exclusive signers from Upper Deck Authenticated, the sports collectibles arm of Upper Deck.
To enter the 2014 Upper Deck Ultimate Man Cave Contest, entrants should submit one to five hi-resolution JPEG images of their “Man Cave” and the reason (in one hundred words or less) why they deserve to win the contest to upperdeckmarketing@upperdeck.com.
“Upper Deck’s 25th anniversary has always been about finding unique ways to incorporate and give back to our collectors and fans so we feel this contest is going to be a big hit,” said Gabriel Garcia, Upper Deck Authenticated brand manager. “The true beauty of a man cave lies not only with the size of one’s TV, but also with the overall design and presentation of the space. We look forward to being wowed by everyone’s creativity and imagination, and are happy and eager to add one more valuable piece of exclusive Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) memorabilia to the man caves of our winners.”
Submissions will be judged solely by Upper Deck staff at its discretion, and will be judged on the entrants’ use of sports memorabilia/imagery, the compelling nature of their story and their Upper Deck pride.
All eligible entries will be posted to UDA’s Facebook page during the contest period. The five finalists selected by the Upper Deck staff will be posted to www.upperdeckstore.com/ultimatemancave for the public to vote on from Oct. 14-16 (fans can cast one vote per day). Winners will be notified on or around October 17.
The five winners will have the opportunity to choose a memorabilia prize based on their standing in the voting. As such, the first-place winner will be able to select from the pool of five prizes, second place will select from the pool of the remaining four prizes, and so on. The prize winners will be notified by email and the prize will be mailed to them.
The 2014 Upper Deck Ultimate Man Cave Contest is open to legal residents (age 13 and above) of the United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec).
Current and former employees, members, managers, officers and directors of Upper Deck, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of such, are ineligible to enter the contest. Only one entry per person is allowed. Those who have entered this contest previously must show 50% or more different sports memorabilia/images from their last submission.
All Upper Deck Authenticated memorabilia is available for order at www.upperdeckstore.com or by calling (800) 551-8220.
