Tri-State Antique Market reviving Indy indoor market

Indy’s Tri-State Antique Market is reviving indoor antique markets in Indy, beginning with the Nov. 2 event at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.

LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. -- The co-manager of the greater Cincinnati area’s seasonal Tri-State Antique Market will put an end to the long winter dry spells his customers have endured for two decades in the off-season.

Looking back at the successful winter shows of the 1990's and with an eye on the current revival of the antiques and vintage trade, Aaron Metzger has booked the downtown Lawrenceburg Event Center for a pair of indoor markets for the coming Nov. One-day sales at the new 18,000 square foot facility are scheduled for Sundays, November 2, and February 1.

"The biggest challenge," reports Metzger, "will be downsizing from the five acre fairgrounds into a hall with a bit over 50 booths."

He intends to do that by offering dealer placement based on variety and quality of goods.

"This will be a general line show so we will do our best to balance the types of merchandise on the showroom floor. There will be furniture, jewelry, art, primitives, vintage advertising, repurposed industrial, and home decor - all of that and more - but not too much of any one thing," he promises.

Metzger also notes that there is traditionally less offered "in the rough" at any indoor venue.

Shopping at the Tri-State Winter Market will begin on Sunday at 9:00 A.M. and end at 4:00 P.M. A $5.00 adult (over age 18) admission will be charged. Food and refreshments will be available. The Lawrenceburg Event Center is located at 91 Walnut Street at the foot of the city's levee. Both garage and street parking are located nearby.
