Multi-million dollar coins selling through eBay

A 52-coin set of $20 Saint-Gauden Double Eagle coins, issued from 1907-1932, is slated to sell April 8 on eBay.

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – A rare, multi-million dollar set of gold coins will come to auction through eBay April 8, 2018. Nicknamed “Saints” they date to between 1907 to 1932. The U.S. $20 denomination gold pieces are exquisite designs of a century ago. Sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens is the creator of the design at the request of President Teddy Roosevelt.

Coin dealer Barry Stuppler [eBay user ID: verypq], President of Mint State Gold by Stuppler, represents the anonymous seller, and says the 52-coin set is the largest of its kind ever offered on eBay.

“The set is among the rarest collections in the coin world. Twenty-one of the collection’s coins are either the finest existing or among two of the finest surviving examples. Ten of these historic coins previously belonged in the most renowned collections. The assemblage is decades in the making,” explains Stuppler.

The Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) has authenticated and guaranteed many coins. Among their assessments is the extremely high-quality grade of each Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle.

The value of this uncommon collection is in excess of $7 million. Three percent of the sale proceeds will go to charity which includes the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In addition, the beneficiaries include The ALS Association. Furthernore, it includes the Anti-Counterfeiting Education Foundation.
