Czech collectors gathering June 4-7
Come June 4, collectors of Czechoslovakian glass, pottery and art will gather in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the three-day Czechoslovakian Collectors Association annual meeting.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The 2015 Czechoslovakian Collectors Association (CCA) convention will be held June 4-7 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The annual event will include trips to the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library,
as well as the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. Plus, there will be a show and sale at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Convention Center, which is the site of the convention. The show and sale will include dealers offering a variety of Austrian, Czechoslovakian and Bohemian antiques and decorative arts.
Also participating in the convention is Debbie Truitt, noted expert and author of books about Bohemian glass. Truitt will present “The Lost History of Rückle – And it’s Still Lost,” while collector Judy Myers will discuss Czech perfumes.
The CCA is dedicated to the ABCs — Austrian, Bohemian and Czechoslovakian decorative arts. The group’s mission is to foster the collection and appreciation of the art glass, ceramics, jewelry and other decorative arts of the region from 1850 to 1940.
The antiques show and sale is open to the public at no cost. Lectures carry a nominal charge. All activities are included in the registration fee, which is available to both members and nonmembers.
