1930s roulette slot machine may ring up $10,000
Victorian Casino Antiques is gearing up for its “3 Days in May” event May 2-4, with 1,800-lots of hard-to-find toys, coin-operated arcade machines, advertising art, gas and oil memorabilia and radio equipment.
LAS VEGAS — From vintage radios and toy cars to antique slot machines and gasoline pumps, the next Victorian Casino Antiques auction is so big, it’s going to take three days to accommodate all of the lots — “3 Days in May,” specifically.
Live at VCA’s Las Vegas showroom May 2-4, the “3 Days in May” auction will feature 1,800
lots of hard-to-find toys, coin-operated arcade machines, advertising art, gas and oil memorabilia and radio equipment, including some consoles that hail from the dawn of the broadcasting age.
The first day of the auction will be dedicated to antique toys – most notably, dozens of vintage race cars in all shapes and sizes from the early-to-mid 20th century, many from Europe. Also included are a number of Japanese cars representing the futuristic, Atomic Age aesthetic best exemplified by the popular anime series Speed Racer. They will be joined by American fire trucks, construction vehicles and diecast motorcycles, including a seldom-offered 1929 Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle.
Also heading to the auction block, is a “Marx Merry Makers” mouse band circa 1931, a mechanized Robby the Robot “Space Patrol” reproduction from Mike’s Toy House and a circa-1947 German Arnold Mac 700 wind-up tin motorcycle and rider. Plus, a selection of Nancy Ann Storybook dolls from the 1930s and ’40s will be present.
There will also be a large collection of vintage radios, microphones and broadcasting equipment. From hand-carved floor consoles and tabletop “tombstone” models to multi-function grandfather clocks and compact Catalin radios from RCA, Norelco and Zenith, there’s a lot for antique radio enthusiasts, musicians and audiophiles from which to choose. The remainder of the auction will be rounded out by VCA’s signature hallmark selection of vintage coin-operated machines, cash registers, gas and oil collectibles, advertising art and other hard-to-find antiques and collectibles.
On-site previews prior to the auction dates are available at VCA’s Las Vegas gallery (4520 Arville St. #1) from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, or on an appointment basis by calling 702-382-2466.
