Rock Island Auction poised to surpass its 2015 results
More than 2,700 lots of antique, collectible and military firearms and related items will cross the auction block Dec. 2-4 through Rock Island Auction Co.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The year 2016 is shaping up to be Rock Island Auction Company's best year in its 20-plus year history. The firm reports that its upcoming December Premiere Auction is “the perfect event to both put a giant exclamation point on the year as well as put us in an excellent position to top our incredible, record-breaking 2015 results.”
Two Storied Collections on Offer
The Rock Island Auction event, taking place Dec. 2-4, is the third installment of the Robert “The Bear” Bretherton Collection, as well as items from Part II of the Robert M. Lee Collection. Those two names are arguably the greatest collectors of the 20th century; having them both featured in one sale is a windfall to aspiring collections in a wide variety of genres.
Fine firearms specimens come not only from the two aforementioned collections, but also from such remarkable groupings as the second installment of the Thor Edgeberg Collection, Part III of the John H. Bill Collection of Rare European Semi-automatic pistols, a fourth installment of the Piedmont Collection of World Class Kentucky flintlocks and high end European arms, the Gregory May Civil War Collection, the Dr. William A. “Bill” West Collection, and the second appearance of the Lt. Col. David Forsythe Collection.
The December Premiere Auction at Rock Island Auction represents a rare opportunity to improve collections with top-tier arms and accoutrements. For more information, visit www.rockislandauction.com.
