Exploring Star Wars action figures appeal

Few relationships in the pop culture universe have the staying power that is apparent between Star Wars and its fans.

Case in point, today (Dec. 15, 2017) is the official opening of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi". It is the latest in the series, which according to cinema experts includes six 'episodic motion pictures'. Still other experts say there are 13 films in total. I guess it’s all about how you define the parameters. This sale is more than five times the action figure’s low estimate; and a Anakin Skywalker prototype action figure, circa 1985, from the film “Star Wars: The Power of the Force” attracted aggressive bidding that drove the final bid to $34,981 before the gavel fell. That was more than three times the low estimate.
