Cool happenings for collectors in December
If you’re looking for an opportunity to treat yourself to some fun during the hectic holiday season, allow us to recommend scoping out the Show and Auction calendars on our site. Check out a few of the many items happening between now and the end of 2017.
We realize it sometimes may be difficult to find time and space to get in any activities that feed your collector spirit during the holiday season. However, if you are looking for events and opportunities to enjoy antiquing adventures and markets, and collector shows, we invite you to check out our Antique Show and Auction Calendars.
There are several events occurring the last seven or so weeks of 2017. Whew, it's hard to believe the year has gone by so quickly, isn't it? The good news is, it's not over yet and there is time to enjoy yourself in an antiquing way.
Events to Satisfy Your Collector Heart
Here are just a few of the many, many events you'll find (arranged by state) within the Antique Trader Antique Show and Auction calendars - an a la carte for collectors:
• Nov. 17-19 in Eureka Spring, Arkansas, the Antique Festival of the Ozarks will take place. The event will be held at the Best Western Inn of The Ozarks in Eureka Springs, AR.
— Nov. 18-19 Thomaston Place Auction Galleries will present its Fall Fine Arts & Antiques Auction. Check out this auction preview to learn more about some of the items in this sale. If you are in area of Thomaston, Maine, perhaps consider attending in person.
• Dec. 2-3 in St. Charles, Illinois, the Kane County Flea Market will take place at the Kane County Fairgrounds. Admission to this event is just $5.
— Dec. 4 will see a number of items of jewelry cross the auction block during Heritage Auctions' Jewelry Auction. The event will be held at Heritage Auctions' New York office, again a grand opportunity to attend an auction in person, but if you are not near the Big Apple you can participate through internet, telephone, and absentee bidding.
Get Into An Antiquing Mindset
• Dec. 10 one of Pasadena, California's most popular attraction events takes place: Rose Bowl Flea Market. If you are in the area and are an early riser you can opt to pay a bit more for early bird admission. This means shopping from 5am until 9 am, before the gates open for general admission.
— Dolls, dolls and more dolls will be top of mind Dec. 15, as Theriault's presents its December Ten2Go Auction. According to Theriault's website the Ten2Go is: "A bargain hunter's, fixer-upper's, and pack-rat's dream come true! Usually over 400 lots are presented in a fast-paced old-style auction where everything starts at $10." Bidding for this event is in-person only at the Annapolis, Maryland gallery.
As I mentioned, this is just a small list of the events on the docket for the rest of the year. Plus, that list changes daily as we add more events as soon as we receive them.
