Scarce Roosevelt political pin coming before bidders July 15

Pook & Pook, Inc. will present its summer auction of currency and political memorabilia Wednesday,

July 15th, 2015 at 10 am on Bidsquare.com, the sale includes more than two hundred lots of coins and paper money, as well as approximately seventy five lots of political pins and related ephemera.

Focusing primarily on American items, the July sale opens with currency. Whether searching for a specific year or mint location, or fulfilling a desire to expand a collection, Pook & Pook, Inc’s varied selection is already generating bidder interest. The sale features colonial pieces, large assortments of Civil War and Hard Times tokens, gold and silver dollars and unique paper currency, all supported by a plethora of other desirable pieces. Highlights include two uncirculated Saint-Gaudens $20 coins, multiple $10 and $5 gold coins, a 1909-S VDB Lincoln Head cent, and three 1875 20¢ pieces. Multiple commemorative medals have also elicited interest and transition the sale nicely into political memorabilia.

A large collection of pins, tokens and other campaign ephemera finish July’s auction. Representing more than a century of presidential and legislative candidates, this rare assortment features an Abraham Lincoln and Hannibal Hamlin presidential ferrotype, an uncommonly large John W. Davis button, and a Theodore Roosevelt articulated pin reading “Give Them Hell Boys” inside its open mouth.
