New gallery holding inaugural sale July 12-13
Recently formed Link Auction Galleries, will present its inaugural auction in St. Louis, July 12-13, featuring cast iron toys, advertising memorabilia, and decorative art, among other things.
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. — Link Auction Galleries, which was formed in January 2014 by a team of specialists with a combined total of more than 160 years of experience in the St.
Louis auction industry, announces its inaugural auction is taking place July 12-13 beginning at 10 a.m.
Joining the firm and the sale is David Weber, an appraiser and auction specialist for collectibles and classic cars. Weber has been surrounded by antique and classic automobiles and collectibles since he was a child, and in 1974, he and his father Fred made collecting, restoring, buying, showing and selling automobiles a full-time business.
Throughout the years, Weber has evolved into a nationally recognized consultant in the field of antique and classic automobiles and collectibles. He is acquainted with an extensive network of collectors, giving him an advantage in the world market of antique toys and memorabilia. Enthusiasts often ask for his expertise when buying and selling. The inaugural sale is offering an outstanding selection of cast iron toys, advertising memorabilia and a unique salesman’s sampler of a Home Comfort stove manufactured by
the Wrought Iron Range Co. of St. Louis. Also offered is a collection of early 20th century cast iron model planes, including a 1931 American Flyer; Lindy and Bremen Junkers by Hubley, circa 1926; Pony Blimp; Steelcraft Lockheed Sirius; and a Fire Chief wind-up vehicle. Also on offer are Continental and American works of art, 18th century English furniture, oriental carpets, decorative arts and sculpture.
