Pook & Pook teaming up with Stuart Kingston Galleries
Pook & Pook and Stuart Kingston Galleries are embarking on a collaboration focusing on jewelry and fine and decorative art auctions.
DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. — Pook & Pook, Inc. Auctioneers and Appraisers recently announced a new collaboration with premier retailer, Stuart Kingston Galleries. The auction house and gallery will team up officially for the first time this fall, to bring clients an assortment of jewelry and fine art, sans sales tax.
Founded in 1930 by Maurice Stein, Stuart Kingston Galleries, located in tax-free Wilmington, Delaware, is now run by Maurice’s son, James, and grandson, Edward. The company specializes in contemporary and estate jewelry and fine art, offering the work of Edward Loper, Sr., Charles Columbo, and other renowned 19th and 20th century artists. Over their eighty-year history, Stuart Kingston Galleries has presented several auctions of jewelry and fine art, though in recent years has emphasized the retail facet of the business. Stein was quoted saying that the collaboration with Pook & Pook, Inc. will bring the company “back to its [auction] roots,” a transition which will be aided by the auction house’s successful infrastructure, advertising, and strong internet presence.
Pook & Pook, Inc. was founded by Ron and Debra Pook in 1984 out of their thriving antiques business. Since then, the company has become a leading east coast auction house with record-setting prices and clients all over the world. Pook & Pook, Inc. is also a leader in innovation. In 2013, the company helped create Bidsquare.com, a curated online auction platform where bidders can bid on an authenticated and vetted selection of material. Though best known for selling fine and decorative arts, Pook & Pook, Inc. has offered several impressive jewelry items and hosted dedicated jewelry auctions.
Ron Pook, however, hopes that partnering with the respected jewelry experts at Stuart Kingston Galleries will solidify Pook & Pook, Inc.’s status as a powerhouse within the jewelry market. He is especially excited “to offer clients a tax-free buying experience as well as a lower buyer’s premium than customers find in Philadelphia and New York City.”
The first joint venture between the two companies takes place on November 19th, 2016 at Stuart Kingston Galleries in their state of the art facility in Wilmington, Delaware. The collaboration, dubbed “Pook & Pook, Inc. Auctioneers and Appraisers with Stuart Kingston Galleries,” will offer an incredible selection of fine art and jewelry, in keeping with both institutions’ stellar reputations.
