Benton’s ‘New England Farm’ signed lithograph is cultivating bidder interest

A signed lithograph by American artist Thomas Hart Benton, depicting a days work on the farm, circa 1951, may command between $1,000 to $1,500 during Link Auction Galleries’ Summer Gallery Auction. The sale, with online bidding being handled by Invaluable, is set for July 12-13.

BOSTON – July 2, 2014 – Invaluable, the world’s largest online live auction marketplace, and Link Auction Galleries, a new auction gallery located in St. Louis, MO, recently announced a new partnership to provide online bidding on Link Auction Galleries’ sales. The first Link Auction Galleries sale to be promoted through Invaluable is the company’s inaugural Summer Gallery auction, taking place on July 12 and 13, 2014.

The two-day auction will kick off on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:00am CST. The first day of the sale will feature a wide selection of American Art, including oil painting Sage Brush in Bloom by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus (1874-1952), oil painting Pines by the Lake by Birger Sandzen (1871-1954), watercolor Figures at Shore by Dean Mitchell (b. 1957) and a signed lithograph of New England Farm by Thomas Hart Benton (1889-1975).

The first day of the sale will also feature three Joseph Paul Vorst (1897-1947) paintings from a private collection that will be offered at auction for the first time in their history, including Drought, Southern Mississippi and Animated street scene. Additional lots of note include a Tiffany Studios Pomegranate Table Lamp and a Tiffany Studios Acorn Table Lamp, as well as a Steinway Piano and Bench.

collectibles, oriental carpets, Asian antiques, pottery and sculpture. Noteworthy lots include a storyteller figure accompanied by six individual figurines by Helen Cordero (1915-1994), Asian antiques including a Chinese Ming Bronze of a Daoist Figure and a Chinese Ming Bronze Guanyin Figural Group, and oriental rugs including an Antique Serapi Room Rug and an Antique Persian Serapi Palace Carpet.
