Hasbro's Iconic Action Figure

Hasbro introduced the GI Joe line in 1964. As it was then considered socially unacceptable for boys to play with dolls, the company used the term “action figure” in their marketing – a phrase that has since become ubiquitous. So iconic did these toys become, that GI Joe was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York, in 2003.

The auction will be held at Cordier’s auction house, 1500 Paxton St., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, however bidders will also be participating live online. Live previews for the sale will be held on Friday, April 21, from 12-4 p.m.; Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and the day of the auction from 9 a.m. through the sale.
